IRRIGATION SYSTEM

The "Khuren Tal" irrigation system is a project that implemented over a total area of 500 hectares. The area is located in Telmen soum of Zavkhan province, approximately 130 kilometers from Uliastai city, and about 10 kilometers northeast of the center of Telmen soum.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND WEATHER CONDITIONS

It has a cool climate and, in terms of natural zoning, belongs to the forest-steppe region, while in terms of melioration zoning, it falls under the central region with insufficient moisture.

The long-term average surface soil temperature in the region is -3.0°C, with the soil freezing up to a depth of 3.2 meters during the seasonal freeze, and sporadic permafrost is distributed in the deeper soil layers.
